God Is! Unity Principle #1

This Sunday we explored the first of Unity’s Five Basic Principles.

#1 – There is only One Power and One Presence in my life and in the Universe – God the good – Omnipotent.

We speak it together every week.The children’s version of the first principle is simply “God Is!”

The previous weeks have taken us on a journey to explore the many “faces” or perspectives of God, affirming the One Power and the One Presence. This Sunday we carried this new knowledge with us in our understanding of God, of Spirit, of Universal Love, of One Mind.  And in this greater understanding comes inner reflection; Where in our lives might we have created other gods, other “powers”? To whom or to what might we have relinquished our own power?

Yes, there is work to do. Inner work, always. Unity does not teach people what to think, but rather how to think for themselves. We looked at how our “work” is to explore – heal – learn – grow.
